About Me

Hello there,

I’m Jeff Kirsch and I’m a film student, film buff, and film fan.  I love movies!

The focus of this site is not just to do movie reviews.  I’m much more interested in other aspects of filmmaking including location selection, motion picture history, imagery and cinematography, and of course getting a glimpse into the world of actor and actresses – not just the fluffy gossip stuff.  I also enjoy exploring the business side of movie making and how studios make strategic decisions based on their budget and constraints.

My background in film is attending film school and having completed several projects of my own.  My resume consists of directing two feature length films and a short film.  I’ve also acted in some independent films and have been fortunate enough to be an extra in some big blockbusters such as “Jurassic Park” and “Forrest Gump”.  To be frank, Jurassic Park was one of my favorite all time movies!  Even though I enjoy film of all types, I tend to gravitate towards genres such as drama and suspense.

My goal in starting this blog is to share my thoughts and opinions about film as well as start conversations with other film fans.  I’m always interested in discovering different perspectives and aspects of filmmaking.  Your comments and opinions are always welcome here! You may not find everything on this site interesting, but if it touches on any of your interests, feel free to contribute your feedback. It’s much appreciated!

Here’s to film!
